The holidays are full of giving — giving gifts, giving time, giving energy. But if you’re pregnant, it’s just as important to give yourself something too: the gift of calm.
During my pregnancies, I loved the magic of the holiday season. But I also felt the weight of exhaustion, stress, and constant “busyness.” It wasn’t until I learned how to slow down, breathe, and connect with myself and my baby that I really began to enjoy the season in a whole new way.
If you’re expecting this holiday season, here are my favorite pregnancy self-care practices that can help you stay grounded, joyful, and peaceful — no matter what the holiday chaos looks like around you.
1. Create Holiday Rituals That Nurture You
Not every tradition needs to be about doing more. Some of the best rituals are the ones that bring you back to calm.
- Make a cozy tea before bed each night.
- Journal three things you’re grateful for each morning.
- Play calming holiday music while resting with your baby bump.
2. Protect Your Energy
It’s okay to say no to things that drain you. Whether it’s a late-night party, overextending yourself with shopping, or hosting when you don’t feel up to it — pregnancy is a time to honor your body. Protect your peace, and let go of obligations that don’t serve you.
3. Practice Guided Relaxation
Even 5–10 minutes of guided meditation can reset your whole day. During my pregnancies, this became my lifeline. Breathing deeply, repeating affirmations, and visualizing a calm birth changed how I approached both the holidays and labor.
That’s why I created my Hypnobirthing Meditation Bundle — so other moms could have affordable, easy-to-use tracks to guide them into calm and confidence whenever they need it.
4. Nourish Your Body Gently
Holiday food is wonderful, but don’t forget your body is doing the incredible work of growing a baby. Balance festive treats with simple, nourishing meals, hydration, and plenty of rest. Your body will thank you.
5. Remember: You Are the Gift
It’s easy to get lost in the season’s demands, but your presence, your calm, and your well-being are the greatest gifts you can give to yourself, your baby, and your family.
Closing
This holiday season, let calm be the gift you keep for yourself. You deserve to feel peaceful, connected, and supported as you prepare for birth.
